# AI document classification

**Requires a BIG AI contract.** If BIG AI is not active on your account, this feature will not appear.

The document classification the platform runs in the background is visible to staff on the **Loan Documents** screen, and correctable by them.

## What you see

- **Classified type on every card** — the type the AI identified for that document.
- **Type mismatch pill** — appears when the AI's read disagrees with where the document was filed. Hover for the reason.

## Correcting a classification

Use **Change AI type** from the document's action menu or from the preview window.

This changes the AI classification only. It never changes the file itself, and it does not move the document to a different folder. If the document is genuinely filed in the wrong place, correcting the AI type does not fix that.

## Who sees this

Staff only. Borrowers and Realtors see none of it on their own documents.

## If classification is not running

Check whether the AI Assistant toggle is off for that site. With AI disabled for a site, documents uploaded to its loans are never sent for classification, so no type will appear.
